What is Meow Metrics and who is behind it?
Meow Metrics is a platform to manage cat colonies with the TNR method, in accordance with Spain’s Law 7/2023. It is developed by Zoometrics, founded by Diana Barrantes and Juan Manuel Taboada Álvarez.
Is there a free app to manage colonies as a volunteer?
Yes: the free account (“free user”), for one person, with their data kept private.
How much does it cost for a local government?
The price is given after a demo and depends on the population and the modules.
What does the free account include and not include?
It includes colonies, map, cat census, alerts and actions, statistics, map layers and critical areas, inventory, surveys and a directory of collaborators, in 12 languages. It does not include team or roles, reports and documents, routines and work logs, or the monthly report.
What is the difference between the free account, association and municipality?
Who uses it (one person, an association’s team or the municipal team) and what else is unlocked: teams, reports and communications.
How do I move my colony census from Excel to the platform?
You send us your census and we enter it, or we give you a template for you to fill in, whichever is easier for you.
Who can see the colonies and the data?
They are private: only people authorized by the municipality or the association can see them; in the free account, only the account holder.
Is it available in my language and in other countries?
Meow Metrics is available in 12 languages: Spanish, Catalan, Galician, Basque, Valencian, Aragonese, English, German, Italian, French, Arabic, and Korean.
How do I start a demo?
Request it through the demo form.
Does it work on phones and computers?
Yes: it is an installable web app (PWA), adapted to any screen size and accessible from any device with an internet connection.
Can I add photos of the cats and the colonies?
Yes.
Does it have a colony map?
Yes, with map layers and critical areas, at all levels.
How many cats can I register?
No limit on cats or colonies.
Can I work with volunteers?
Associations and municipalities can invite volunteers; whoever receives the invitation decides whether to accept it.
Does it generate reports and documents for grants?
Yes, for associations and municipalities: documents and reports (grant and technical reports) and a monthly report by email.
Does it have notifications and chat?
Associations and municipalities have notifications within the platform; municipalities also get chat and internal communications and push notifications on mobile.
Is there a digital collaborator card?
Yes, at the municipality level, linked to the collaborating organization.
